(1) I have been fishing with Mike for so long I don't remember the number of years. Fifteen years is my estimate. Mike not only has become my guide of choice for myself, my customers, my employees but a close friend as well. We have fished Tennessee, Virginia and northern Saskatchewan together, but don't believe him if he tells you he can out fish me ! If you want a guide, go with Mike. You can do it all yourself or he will help as much as you like. Mike does not hook the fish, wind it half way in and then hand you the rod. YOU catch the fish, and I am talking quantities of fish according to when and where you may be fishing . I was there for the 55 lb striper, the 50 stripers in 4 hours, the smallmouth on the New river and the 42" northern pike in Saskatchewan. I have fished with other guides and there is no comparison. You will have fun and you will catch fish.

(2) I first met mike years ago when I was hunting in Montana. Mike and I were talking and he told me about the fishing trips that he guides in the summer. The trips sounded great, but I had to explain to Mike that I never did much fishing. Fortunately, Mike is the kind of guy that didn't mind my lack of experience and was willing to share his knowledge while I asked a lot of dumb questions over the years. I gotta say, "it's amazing the quality and quantity of the fish you can catch when you have a guide that gets you in the right spot". The only thing Mike really needs to work at is getting the BIG fish on my side of the boat instead of the side my wife is on ! Hey Mike, keep a couple of spots open for us this year.

(3) I met Mike coley almost 20 years ago at an outdoor show in Raleigh, NC. On display in his booth were two huge stripers which certainly caught my attention. After getting the story and seeing the stripers being caught I was hooked. Since that day I have fished with Mike every year but one which the weather didn't co-operate. I have caught numerous big stripers, smallies and a 16 lb hybrid with Mike. I have fished with many guides in both fresh and salt water ( Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina & Virginia ) and Mike is one of the best if not the best. Soft spoken, knowledgeable and accommodating and is very willing to share his keys to becoming a more successful fisherman. Our fishing together has turned into a long time friendship. when you schedule your trip, if possible, try to fish at least two days in case weather is a problem (especially true in the spring ) and most likely you too will start a lasting friendship.

(4) Savage Strike Guide Service is the only reason I do not own a boat. Since 1991 myself and clients have been treated more like first mates than customers. I have landed more big fish than I can count when other boats around us were not getting a bite. On a 2 day trip to the Tennessee River I and 2 friends landed 143 stripers. a common phrase heard on his boat is " fish on ". Capt. Mike is a true professional with a passion for catching fish. Only problem is I have introduced so many people to his guide service that it is difficult to get a trip so you better book early.

(5) I have been fishing for many years and was very happy to meet and fish with Savage Strike. In all my years of fishing and hiring guides I have yet to meet anyone like Mike. He is without a doubt the hardest working guide I know. His knowledge of the river and the fish are second to none, just wait till you see a musky with him and you'll know what I mean. I could not recommend Mike highly enough to all fisherman .Many thanks again Mike for the last trip which was the best I ever had. I am really looking forward to returning in the fall for those real fat muskies...

note from Mike : I have made a lot of friends through the years guiding { A few didn't like me but I didn't like them either and never lost any sleep over it ). We don't catch big fish every day, don't catch a lot of fish on every trip and yes some ( very VERY few ) days we get "skunked". A full time guide who tells you otherwise or guarantee's that you will catch fish is lying. You can be assured that when you get in my boat, regardless of where we are fishing or what we are fishing for that I have the years of experience to put the odds in your favor and will give 110% toward putting fish in the boat. The Great Spirit gave me this talent but I do NOT have the power to make fish eat. Mike
